Simpsons: The Homer They Fall

This is a hilarious episode, where Homer decides to become a boxer, starting off fighting hobos/tramps, but ends up fighting the world champion, Drederick Tatum. The episode is taken from the 7th season
Best Quotes:

Barney: You’d never get me in a ring - boxing causes brain damage. [He then proceeds to drink a can of varnish]

Moe: Okay, you’re fightin’ a guy called Boxcar Bob.
Homer: Brawled his way up from the boxcars, did he?
Moe: No, not exactly. He still lives down at the train yard. But he’s a hungry young fighter! In fact, he’s fighting for a sandwich.

Moe: Homer, how would you like to be World Champion? All you got to do is fight this guy, Drederick Tatum - here’s the time and date.

Homer: Oh sure. Is he a hobo too?

Moe: You know, I’ll have to check up on that.

[Homer is getting beaten up in the ring by Tatum]

Marge: [Walking towards the ring] He’s not going to get worn out. You’ve got to hit him back. HIT HIM BACK!

Homer: [Completely worn out, with blurred vision] The cactus [Marge's hair] is right, I’ve only got one chance. I’ve got to hit him back!

[He then builds up all of his energy to hit Tatum, throws a punch and misses, and is beaten over the head by Tatum]

I’ve got to commend the writers of this episode - it’s fantastic. Sadly, I can’t find a YouTube video, which I was going to include in this post. One of my favourite moments is when the competitors to the big fight, Tatum and Homer, walk down to the ring. Tatum is surrounded by a group of black guys with a rap song playing, while Homer walks down to the ring with Moe and Grampa by his side, to the tune of “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” To perfect the moment, Homer then has difficulty climbing into the ring.

If you wonder what happens in the end, Homer is rescued by Moe seconds before he would have been hit by Tatum and probably killed. In the last scene, he tells Marge: “I can’t remember where I parked the car!”
